Deer Lake Reflection Day #2

. .. ..This week we had gone canoeing at Deer Lake.  Overall it was okay, I would have liked the walk around the lake but, we were told that we would only be walking a bit then we would go back, if i knew that i wouldn’t have worn the shoes i usually wear because they’re skater shoes and I felt all of the small rocks under my feet and it just, wasn’t nice, it’s like walking bare feet on the gravel, and don’t get me started on small pointy rocks. The canoeing part wasn’t the best but certainly better than the walk, the part that was most annoying is that when I was in the back saying the orders my partner wasn’t following them and got distracted and stopped rowing at the sight of a feather. a feather, there had been so many other feathers, how did she not notice them? I liked eating my lunch in a car though, that was fun, and eating a crepe. But it was an okay experience. I’m not sure if I’ll ever want to do it again but, I’m glad i tried it.

(There were no photos of me, I was always in the corner or cut out ō-ō)

Forest

I wonder how many animals have stepped on the ground there? The difference between Barnet Marine Park and the Forest is that Barnet Marine Park has lots of sandy grounds and the Forest has lots of pine needles covered in soft dirt with thin sticks, fat sticks, and logs on top of the dirt. I wonder what animals turned into that dirt? I  wonder what that dirt did when it was breathing, walking, flying, when it was thriving in the wild, eating berries, delicious meat, and vegetables?

I Am From

I am from the sunny park of Dawson street.                                                                            The warm sun shining down on us in summer,                                                                        The cold, soft, white snow falling down and covering the slide in winter

I am from the caring hugs of my mother and brother.                                                         The fun times we had laughs,                                                                                                          The times my Mother comforted me when I was hurt.

I am from Shadbolts.                                                                                                                            The beautiful leaves that change in the fall                                                                              The soft dancing,The loud dancing.

I am from the scary Halloween decorations,                                                                     the kids collecting delicious candy

I am from me.

Artifact Share Reflection

.     These are my artifacts! The reason I brought these in instead of something else is because my Mom bought them for me on a family trip! why do I hold them close? because my Mom has been one of the only people who have been there for me, now i need to “describe” it… ok? the stuffy is soft, its a dark lavender,a light grassy green, a purple-ish magenta over the eyes, green and black eyes, and a light pink belly. i got the stuffy at a gift shop on our way to the Royal Tyrrell Museum (which was AWESOME! you should go there). I got it from a cashier at a gift shop. How is it connected to my culture? I dunno, i dont have a culture. How does it show I’m connected to place? I’m not, i wanna travel the world and see all of the seven wonders of the world.

Field Experience at Barnet Marine Park

.     On October 4th our class went to Barnet Marine Park. We went there to learn about plants and animals.  To go there we took two bus rides, when we got there we ate lunch and then looked for one animal and one plant, if we wanted to we could choose however many animals and plants but we had to have AT LEAST one of each. Kayla(Chelsea’s sister) and I worked together to find crabs, shells, rocks, etc. we ended up finding a dead crab, two purple rocks ( I gave one to Kayla and one to my Mom ), some shells, and a weird bug both of us saw. My favourite part was watching some boys ( I forgot who it was) ninja run down a ramp, it was funny i wanted to scream   NARUTOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”  because the ninja run came from an anime called “Naruto”. When we were at the beach i enjoyed picking up  handfuls of sand and looking for tiny specks of gold. I kind of want to go there just so I can run down the ramp screaming “NARUTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” because I think it would be funny and amusing. The reason this trip was important to me is because it was a fun social experience and I think most of us want to go back including me.
